An Ace (A) can count as either 1 or 11. K, Q, J, and 10 are each worth 10. All other cards from 2 to 9 are worth their face value.
Starting the Game
Both the player and the dealer receive two cards each. One of the dealer's cards is face up and one is face down. The player tries to beat the dealer without going over 21 and busting.
Determining the Winner
If your total is closer to 21 than the dealer's without going over, you win. If both totals are equal, it is called a "Push" and your bet is returned. If the player goes over 21, they lose automatically.
Blackjack (Natural)
If your first two cards are an Ace plus any 10-value card, it is called a "Natural Blackjack" and pays out at a higher rate than a regular win. This is the best possible result in the game.
Split
If you are dealt two cards of the same value, you can "Split" them into two separate hands. An additional bet is required, and each hand is then played out independently.
Double Down
